Visit nearby Goliad, one of Texas' premier historic destinations, with its Presidio La Bahia, the oldest Spanish fort in existence today, and the Zaragoza House, birthplace of General Ignacio Zaragoza. The Goliad State Park is nestled in the San Antonio River valley and is home to the Mission Espiritu Santo, built in the 1700's and newly restored. The Park offers wonderful children's interpretive programs during the year, and The Market House Museum and Courthouse Square offer local history and fabulous shopping and award winning restaurants, as well as beautiful architecture dating back to the early 1800's. The Goliad Golf Club is open to you, as is the "family friendly" Coleto Creek Park & Reservoir where trophy bass are being caught regularly. Just 8 miles down the road from the ranch is the Berclair Mansion, available for tours, and the fabulous Terrel Hall Restaurant featuring Texas' best steaks and seafood dinners! Schraeder Hall, the 2nd oldest dance hall in Texas is about 40 minutes away, regularly has excellent music including Willie Nelson and Robert Earl Keene. Regardless of the band playing, the great times to be had are always worth the trip.
