Q5 Ranch
|
| Relax,
explore, hike, bike, horseback ride, birdwatch, hunt
(exclusive use only), or let us help
you design a special program for you, your
friends and family at our 706 acre working
ranch while staying in the rustic restored
Maetze-von Dohlen located in Berclair between Goliad
and Beeville, Texas.
The Historic Maetze-von Dohlen home was
built in 1877 in Goliad Texas and was
recently moved to its new home at the
Barnhart Q5 Ranch, just north of Berclair,
TX. Lovingly restored, the pine walls,
chandeliers, 12 foot ceilings, fireplaces
and 6 foot windows with panoramic views make
this an ideal setting for a romantic getaway
or family vacation. |

Make Friends with the
Mediterranean
Miniature Donkeys |
|
Rock on the large porch catching the SE
breezes and be amused by miniature donkeys
grazing and playing in the pastures while
reflecting on the rising or setting sun and
moon. Read, play games, dine - or just
commune by the fireplace in the comfortable
living room under the light of our 18th
century chandelier. Group or family time
could not be better with our modern kitchen
and comfortable living room. The kitchen is
stocked with breakfast foods, coffees, teas,
spices, cookware and utensils, dishes and
napkins. The main house has 3 bedrooms that
sleep 2-4 people each. The "birdhouse" is a
small efficiency apartment in a separate
building. Each of the bedrooms and the
birdhouse has a private bath. You may rent
the whole premises or any room separately.
Romance in the privacy of the large Jane
Long suite while bathing in the double
bathtub under the reflective prism lights of
a Waterford chandelier and cozy up to the
private in-suite fireplace - or have your
family reunion or a group of friends here.
Unwind under the stars by the firepit at
night, cool off in the country cold tub by
day. We have a horseshoe pit, hammocks and
swings for lazy days. |

The Barnhart Q5 Ranch was awarded
Texas
Parks & Wildlife's Lone Star Land Stewardship Award "In Recognition of Outstanding
Efforts in the Conservation and Enhancement
of Wildlife Habitat in Texas" in 2004. It
has over 18 miles of hike and bike trails
through its rolling South Texas brush
country. We feed wildlife year-round at 8 of
our ponds around the property, and offer
wildlife viewing and photography or hunting
blinds at each site. Located within the
intersection of the southern and northern
migratory paths, birdwatchers can see large
numbers of green jay, bunting, raptors,
heron, ibis, hummingbird, and more. Deer,
Bobwhite quail, dove, turkey, and the
occasional bobcat can be sited. Our night
sky is black and loaded with stars. Grab
your pillows and head for the high point on
stargazer hill for fabulous stargazing while
coyote serenade you.
Bring your own horses -
stabling fees at $25./night per. |
